Spotlight: Four wins last year from his six 3yo starts and he continued the good work when comfortably making all in a three-runner handicap at Nottingham (2m) on last month's reappearance; unproven on AW and this is a much tougher test of his credentials but he could have lots more left in the tank.

Spotlight: Benefited from the drop to Class 5 company to win in a small field at Salisbury (1m6f, good to firm) last month on his second stable start; back up in grade today but this lightly raced 4yo had a good record here when trained by Brian Ellison and could have more to offer for current yard; respected.

Spotlight: Four-time course winner (1m2f/1m4f) who proved his stamina for 2m when second of six in a hot little race at Haydock last month (Gibside third), when behind Caballo De Mar who went on to finish second at Royal Ascot; unexposed at the trip and could have a part to play.

Spotlight: Won at Ripon (2m, good) in April and has run well in defeat on two of his three starts since, finishing third at Chester (2m2f, good) and Chelmsford (1m6f, Polytrack); has won on Tapeta and he's an each-way contender.

Spotlight: Twice went close at Kempton late last year (2m, Polytrack; unproven on Tapeta) and returned to form with creditable third at Goodwood (2m, soft) three weeks ago; holds each-way claims once more.

Spotlight: 4yo who exploited a reduced mark when winning in first-time blinkers at Kempton (2m, Polytrack) last month; unraced on Tapeta; a career best is needed under a 5lb penalty but he could have more to offer in the headgear.

Spotlight: Front-runner who ended last season with a win (1m4f, good to soft) and began this campaign with another (1m6f); close second at Hamilton (1m5f) the next twice; has won on Tapeta; tackles a new trip today but this progressive 6yo is 5lb ahead of the handicapper and could produce another bold show.

Spotlight: Well beaten on soft ground at Chester a fortnight ago but consistent in the main and she's 1lb lower than when winning a six-runner handicap over C&D on New Year's Day; in with an each-way shout if bouncing back.

Spotlight: Won the Chester Cup consolation race last month (2m2f, good) and third of six in a good little race at Haydock subsequently (2m, good; Humble Spark second); has run well on Tapeta elsewhere and he could be in the mix.

Spotlight: Won two in a row over C&D earlier this year before respectable fifth of 14 from 8lb out of the handicap over C&D on Good Friday; fair second of three to easy winner Godsend at Nottingham last month and could better that performance now back at Newcastle; each-way possibilities.

Spotlight: 8yo who is a former hurdler/chaser; enjoyed a solid spell in soft-ground staying handicaps on the Flat last autumn, and produced a career best in this code when winning by 3l on his reappearance at Southwell (2m, Tapeta) two months ago; a 5lb rise isn't harsh and he could be involved.

Spotlight: Won 1m6f maiden as a 3yo in 2023 and all six subsequent wins have come over 1m2f here, including four this year (two under Lauren Young); yard's horses are frequently versatile trip-wise but this one has a patchy record over today's distance and was well beaten over C&D in April when last seen.

Spotlight: Won three times on turf last summer (1m3f-2m1f) and races off his last winning mark today; however, he hasn't been at the top of his game on his five outings this season and needs to turn things around.

Spotlight: Four wins for David O'Meara last year (2m/1m6f), two on Tapeta, and she's on a competitive mark on her best form; the step back up in trip may help but she's not easy to fancy judged on this year's two runs.

Spotlight: Won here when trained by the Gosdens and scored over hurdles for this yard last October; has dropped down the weights in this code but he was well beaten in the Chester Cup last time and needs to raise his game in a first-time visor (replacing tongue-tie/cheekpieces).

Spotlight: Won off this mark at York (2m) last July and didn't run badly on reappearance at Ripon in April; however, good performances were scarce last season and he was tailed off at Chester last month; something to prove; the tongue-tie and blinkers are both new and replace cheekpieces.

Spotlight: Ex-Gosden 4yo who remains lightly raced; encouraging fourth on stable and seasonal debut at Hamilton (1m5f) last month but two lesser runs have followed there and he needs to take a sizeable step forward.

Spotlight: Very lightly raced 5yo who was runner-up on stable debut in Wolverhampton maiden (1m4f, Tapeta) in December but he's since been well beaten in his first two handicaps (2m/1m6f, Polytrack); others are preferred.
