Spotlight: Unexposed 3yo who has improved his RPR with each start, winning a 6f novice at Kempton in April (12lb worse off with runner-up Hoodie Hoo today) and runner-up in a Windsor novice and a Musselburgh handicap (5f, good) on his last two starts; the return to 6f will suit and he's open to further progress; respected.
Spotlight: Placed over C&D on his nursery debut last September; three respectable efforts in 6f handicaps this year without suggesting he was well ahead of his mark; stable is also represented by Good Banter.
Spotlight: Improved for the switch to handicaps, winning well at Kempton in April and showing better form when second of 12 at Chester two weeks ago (6f, good); had a wider trip than the winner on that latest occasion (caught seven wide around the first bend) and has just a 1lb rise; unraced on faster than good but remains open to further progress.
Spotlight: Easy winner of a 6f maiden at Wolverhampton on seasonal return in March; failed when conceding 7lb to Topwarrior at Kempton one month later but weighted to exact revenge on that rival today; needs to step up on what he's shown in two handicaps but still has time to do better.
Spotlight: Ended 2024 on the up, winning 6f nurseries at Haydock (heavy) and Doncaster (soft); fine return from a 218-day absence when second of 14 at Hamilton a fortnight ago (6f, good to soft) and his racing style lends itself well to this track; a 3lb rise is less of a concern than the forecast faster ground
Spotlight: The form of his Hamilton win (6f, good) last month has been well franked by the second and third and he ran well for third back at Hamilton two weeks ago (good to soft); can reverse those placings with Station X on the likely faster ground; one to consider.
Spotlight: Frustrating that he has not won; placed for the seventh time from his nine starts when third in a big-field 5f handicap here two weeks ago; did best of those coming from off the pace on that occasion and an unchanged mark is handy; likely to be involved again.
Spotlight: Didn't run badly in a stronger event over C&D two weeks ago, shuffled back through the pack at a crucial stage before keeping on late; dropped 2lb and could be seen to better effect today.
Spotlight: Looked a smart prospect when winning two 6f novices at Wolverhampton; hasn't progressed as might have been expected in handicaps but he drops in class with headgear fitted, so there are grounds for expecting better.
Spotlight: Series of good runs on AW this winter but he wasn't at his best at Lingfield when last seen in February; gelded since; beat 16 rivals for C&D win last summer on good to firm ground and he's not discounted.
Spotlight: Solid effort at Hamilton 13 days ago and not much to find with Station X and Lord Roxby at the revised weights; stable is finding some form now and she could have a big run in her.
Spotlight: Two wins as a 2yo and he's well treated on last year's best; yet to fire in three handicaps this year but he would have finished closer at Hamilton 13 days ago but for meeting some trouble at a crucial stage; best turf form on good ground; stable also run Yes I'm Mali.
Spotlight: Improved for a gelding operation last summer, winning a Chepstow maiden (6f, good to firm) before finishing third in three nurseries on good or faster; another step forward when seeing off his eight rivals at Windsor (6f, good) last month but he then finished behind a few of these at Hamilton 13 days ago; cheekpieces are now turned to.
Spotlight: None too consistent but he ran his best race of the year when upped to 6f at Hamilton 13 days ago; finished behind a couple of these rivals on that occasion though and his best form has come on slower than good.
Spotlight: Ran some good races on AW around the turn of the year but two heavy defeats in April; a subsequent wind operation needs to have had a transformative effect.
Spotlight: Hasn't looked well handicapped for his new stable but his mark is easing and conditions shouldn't faze him; this looks a tough race in which to try to rediscover his best though.
Spotlight: Exposed filly but she's run some good races this year, winning a Pontefract fillies' novice in April (6f, good) and third in a Thirsk handicap on her penultimate start; finished behind Dream Out Loud at Chester last time though.
Spotlight: Low-key seasonal/handicap debut at Haydock four weeks ago (7f, good; 28-1); still has time to do better and the return to 6f could help; others are still more appealing.

Lord Roxby may prove the pick of the six who contested a 6f handicap at Hamilton 13 days ago and the strength of his earlier Hamilton win makes him of some interest. Topwarrior, Hoodie Hoo, \Farandaway and Good Banter all come into the reckoning but the two to appeal most are Territorial Knight and DREAM OUT LOUD. Both can have their latest run upgraded and the Balding-trained 3yo could prove well suited by his first attempt in a big-field event on a straight track.[Paul Smith] Show less
